What should be included in the deal?

You need to make sure that the Personal Computer (PC) package you buy comes with everything you will need. A PC that will be used to play games or for multimedia will need speakers and a suitable sound and graphics card. If the PC will be used for the Internet or e-mail, a modem is needed. Look for PC's that include:
- installation disks (generally CD-ROM)for the software;
- any licence agreements or certificates of authenticity for all the software including the operating system;
- driver disks, which are programs that let the hardware devices such as the CD ROM, printer and scanner, communicate with the operating system.
If you are not given these things, ask for them. Get any agreement or condition about the sale that the seller makes in writing. It should include information on the speed, size, brand and manufacturer of each of the components and the complete system cost. This is important if you later find that parts of the computer are different to those advertised.
